SeaWind was recently tested in accordance with the most stringent SOLAS* requirements for thermal protection, the dreaded 6-hour test!
The test involves six test people donning SeaWind and being immersed in water at 0-2°C for 6 hours. If the core temperature of any of the six drops by more than 2°C during the six hours, SeaWind would not be approved. The same applies if anyone’s skin temperature drops below 10 degrees for more than 15 minutes.
We are proud to announce that SeaWind passed this extreme SOLAS thermal protection test. Proof that, in the event of an accident, SeaWind can be crucial to prolonging survival time by inhibiting hypothermia and thereby facilitating safe rescue when rescuers arrive.
SeaWind is the market's most versatile combined work and survival suit. The suit's ergonomic design and modern construction make it extremely comfortable to work in. And now it also has the highly sought after SOLAS 6-hour approval!

* The main objective of the SOLAS Convention is to specify minimum standards for the construction, equipment, and operation of ships, compatible with their safety. The SOLAS Convention in its successive forms is generally regarded as the most important of all international treaties concerning the safety of merchant ships.
