Comes in two sizes:
- Standard – fits a neck circumference of 28-37cm
- Small – fits a neck circumference of 22-30cm
The cuffs are tapered and therefore trimmed/cut to make the opening larger.
The advantages of silicone cuffs are several, such as that they are not broken down by UV radiation, ozone or exposure to chemicals, oils and grease. Silicone cuffs are also a good alternative for those who have latex allergies and would otherwise have to use neoprene cuffs. Silicone also has more elasticity, which will be positive in terms of perceived comfort and they will probably be able to seal even better on necks that are slim/light, have channels for water to flow through when you move. (Comfort will mainly depend on the correct adjustment/trimming of the cuff).
The biggest disadvantage of silicone cuffs is tear strength. For example, latex cuffs withstand the mechanical wear and tear that cuffs are exposed to when donning and doffing significantly better than silicone cuffs. Without the use of talcum powder when donning, silicone cuffs are also more difficult to put on since they are not as smooth on the inside as a latex cuff.
Conical cuffs have the advantage that you can individually adjust the size around where the cuff seals to your liking. Be extra careful to avoid "v-shaped notches" when adjusting silicone cuffs, since they have lower tear strength than latex. And make sure to stay within one and the same "ring". Since silicone cuffs cannot be glued to suits, they require that you have a ring system on your suit. All of SiTech/Waterproof's ring systems are compatible with silicone cuffs.
