Self-righting unit for SeaAir integrated passenger suits. Similar system is also standard equipment in the survival suit SeaArctic.
Together with these two suits, the self righting unit has been approved by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate's Regulations of 2 February 2016 No. 90 for use on board MODU's (Mobile Drilling Units).
The self righting unit is delivered in a solid cover that can be easily mounted on the suit and prepared for an emergency. See pictures. The unit provides approximately 275N of buoyancy and will automatically turn an unconscious person in the water in a safe face up position with free airways.
The release mechanism is hydrostatic and provides a safe and fast function if the accident occurs. The unit is also equipped with a dump valve, so you can quickly release the air from the lung. Easily released buckles enables the person in distress to get rid of the unit when a stable floating position is established, or for easier access to a life raft.

Hansen Protection has been a pioneer in safety at sea since we launched kapok lifejackets in 1932.
Our current range continues the company's strong traditions, where our greatest concern is to ensure optimal functionality and performance for all types of work at sea.
A first class survival suit can mean the difference between life and death.
As one of the world's foremost developers and manufacturers of survival equipment, Hansen Protection can offer a wide collection of survival suits. Survival can never be guaranteed, but we can guarantee that our survival suits satisfy the highest demands for safety.
Survival suits are obligatory for personnel on oil rigs, passenger ferries, merchant and fishing fleets plus in offshore helicopter transport.
Our dry suits provide sufficient buoyancy and protect against heat loss, and thus increase the survival time in cold water. All suits are tested and approved according to the strictest national and international standards.
